DataLinker Read Me Docs. v1.1

                         DataLink Utilities Programs

Included on the DataLinker disk are some utility programs to make using
your DataLink modem easier. On the front side of the DataLinker disk is a
program called 'Macro.Maker'. This program will create a simple logon macro
for you. To run the macro.maker program choose option 2 from the DataLinker
menu, or choose 'BASIC.SYSTEM' when you quit the DataLinker program (see
Bird's Better Bye later in this file).

Included on the back side of the DataLinker disk are some testing utilities
for your DataLink modem. Just boot the back side of the disk and a menu of
options will be displayed.

                              Bird's Better 'Bye'

written by Alan Bird of 'The SoftWare Touch'

The DataLinker Software disk contains a modified version of Apple
Computer's ProDOS. It incorporates an improved 'BYE' command that lets you
exit one System program and easily run another System program from a menu
(e.g. DL.SYSTEM, BASIC.SYSTEM, etc.).

To use this 'BYE' command, copy the 'PRODOS' file from this disk to your
boot disks. Then, anytime you quit a system program (such as DataLinker), a
menu of all the 'System' files on that disk will be displayed on the screen.

Please Note: Not all of the files listed may be executable. This menu
can also be called from the Applesoft BASIC prompt by typing 'BYE' at the
BASIC prompt.

     Sample screen display:

                         ESC: CHANGE VOLUME
                         RETURN: SELECT FILE

            /DL
                    PRODOS
                    DL.SYSTEM
                    BASIC.SYSTEM

Use the up and down arrow keys to change the highlighted selection. The
Esc key will change the volume (disk) selection to the next on-line volume.
The Return key selects the currently highlighted file or subdirectory name.
Subdirectory names on the disk will be indicated by a '/' as the first
character of the filename. If you select a subdirectory, you will then see
a list of the 'System' files in that subdirectory (if any).
